Since 1954 Vocational Independence Program, Inc. (Formally known as GCARC) has been committed to providing services for adults with disabilities and barriers to employment. The Work/Training agency emphasizes Employment 1st modules and strategies and training in work, activities of daily living, and social skills. Individuals are involved in production, assembly and product manufacturing, in addition to group skill development activities such as: communication, health and safety, community awareness and integrated community activities.
The Community Employment Services Program provides the support for individuals participating in community employment, such as individualized job development, job coaching, and job shadowing services.
Our Logo represents those we support with our services. The teal is our legacy color and the Gold, Silver and Bronze represent the colors of the disability flag recognized by the U.N.
The United Nations recognizes the above Flag and colors as representative of those with disabilities. The colors represent the medals from the Paralympic games.
Supported employment services at VIP provide initial and ongoing support, service and training to help those served find and keep paid employment in a community setting. The services include job site development, job coaching and job shadowing support services. A work site assessment will be completed to analyze the job and the work environment to promote a good match for the person served, and to identify any health or safety considerations that will be addressed.
